Wow. It’s certainly been..a while since I posted over here! Honestly, I don’t have an excuse to fill the gap, I just really wasn’t feeling it and didn’t have too much to write about that you’d be interested in. A lot has definitely changed since summer though. I’ve made loads of new friends, landed myself an audition for Film Four in the next few weeks, got partnered with Machinima, re-launched the Green Valley Minecraft server after downtime due to monetary issues and probably most importantly, got back into the uploading swing for you guys! It’s been an adventure already and we’re only two months into 2012!
Back in September of ’09 when I created this account, I NEVER would have thought that any of this would have been possible, and yes, I know what you’re thinking right now.. “OH GAWD, HERE GOES ANOTHER PERSON SAYING A SOPPY THANK YOU!” well..no, I’m not going to do that. I just wanted to make a quick note to say just how much I really do appreciate all you guys. Even though there are nearly 10,000 of you out there, I truly acknowledge each and EVERY one of you. You make me smile every day and keep striving to do the best for my channel. Then of course I really can’t sum up just how much fun I have doing all of this. It’s just..FREAKING AWESOME. ❤
Anyway, thank god that’s finished! As for posting back on here again, I don’t want to make any promises for set post dates or anything because I probably won’t be able to keep them with everything else going on. That and I usually only post about crazy/awesome things going on with me right now, which I can’t guarantee will happen at certain times. I guess I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing and post when I feel like it. Some might see that as a half-assed attitude, but I see it as…ok yeah, it’s half-assed, but it works out so HAH! 😛
Love you guys, keep it awesome and I’ll see you soon!
Really, it’s already been a month since my last post on here? Wow. Well there’s a lot to update you guys on, so we might as well get started!
Firstly, if you’ve been watching my episodes recently and seen my sketchy (yes, I just used that) upload schedule, you’ll probably know some info about my computer troubles. It’s all just been a massive clusterf**k of crap. Originally, I was having internet troubles, which ended up just being public line work that I couldn’t do anything about. That got sorted soon enough though. Soon after however, I started having the problems I’m still dealing with right now. The main one for me is the booting issues. Every time I boot my computer now, from either full shut down, hibernate, sleep or whatever I have to mess about in the BIOS for a while to get it to work. Sometimes it won’t choose the correct boot device instinctively (although that’s a simple fix), sometimes it will spend 30 minutes loading Windows to only then restart and say I have a disk error. I can deal fine with it all as it always works in the end, and I have yet to lose any data at all from my previous sessions, but the worrying part is it seems to have take longer and longer each time I boot it and to have more issues. I’m going to be taking my computer into the store sometime during this week so that I can diagnose exactly what’s going on and try to figure out a simple fix before I start the upgrades. I want to mainly make sure it’s not something with the OS installation on my hard drive as those are the only parts I’m not replacing and having the issue continue after I change everything would be a complete bitch, to put it bluntly 😉
Other than that complete bunch of fun, summer’s been pretty nice to me so far. I’ve been chilled, the weather’s been AWESOME and my sleeping pattern is already out of the window, so just an average teenage summer really, eh? 😛 A lot of people have been wondering what’s going on with me and Steph during August. As many of you know, the original plan was to go to PAX Prime for the three days and then chill with her for a couple extra days afterwards. Sadly, the PAX Prime part has had to have been cancelled due to lots of private issues wed rather were kept private, but we are still planning for me to head over to her home state in late August and see just her for the week. I’m really sorry to any of you who were hoping to see me over there, but it really couldn’t be helped.
Other than that, I don’t really have too much to report on. Both video series are going well, even if I’m not able to upload as regularly as I thought I would be able to this early on in summer. Don’t worry, the routine won’t be like this for too much longer, I just need to get some of the computer issues sorted out and I’ll have much more time to record! In a way there has been one good thing that came out of all that crap though. Seeing as turning my computer on is a major chore now, I’ve found myself spending a hell of a load of time in bed, on my MacBook (writing this post is an example of just that), relaxing with a good fanfic (I never used to enjoy fanfiction, but I’ve sparked a sudden love for it as of late) or watching a movie. It’s a really nice way to spend a lazy summers day, especially when you can head out into the front yard and do it all from a lounger. Damn, that’s the best thing in the world right there!
Anyway, to end this post off I figure I might as well give you an update for the happenings or the next couple of weeks and what to expect from me content wise. Sadly, my upload schedule is going to be easily just as unpredictable as it has been since summer started, if not more so. This coming weekend, I’m going to be having a partying weekend with friends, so Saturday night is out of the question and, to put it in a way you can probably understand, I won’t be in the best condition to record Sunday either 😉 The same also goes for Thursday night the week afterwards, but I’ll try to stockpile as much as I can prior to that, so the effect will be less. I’ll also try and keep you in the know with my computer, so I can tell you whether videos will have to grind to a halt all together or the problem will be fixed with a simple press of a button.
Well, I guess that’s all I really needed you guys to know about, so with that, I’m going to sit back, relax and watch a movie with a good old Subway sandwich. Mmmm…..
P.S. Oh! There was one last thing actually! Due to the irregular uploads, I’ve been trying to stream more than usual to make up for it. Expect at least one more long streaming session this week and two next week! You can find me streaming at this page, although I usually always post an announcement video on my channel when I go live. Thanks guys!
A vision of mine in Minecraft finally came true today when I started the project. I’ve been an average member on many servers myself since I started playing the game last summer and on many of them, I’ve seen what they’ve called a ‘world tree’. It basically is a major landmark of the server and acts as a vital building, hosting information desks, game arenas or anything else people want to place inside it. I’ve always wanted to build one of these myself but have never had the inspiration or tools to complete it.
Well, make sure to tune into tonight’s Minecraft episode to see that all change, but here’s a little sneak peak before it’s released to those of you who follow on the blog!
Well, just as the title says, it truly has been an awesome couple of weeks. Starting off last week we had E3 as I’m sure you all know. I’m sure you also know that I am a massive fan of the event and each year watching it live is fantastic. Not that I don’t hope to go to an event in the future, but watching it is still great. Of course, the Nintendo conference was the highlight for me, even before it occurred from hearing all the rumours of their announces. I think the image that best sums up their whole event is this…I ‘lol’d’.
It also shows the path that Microsoft decided to take this year. They went all out on the Kinect games and the audiences reaction shows what we’re all thinking. NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE MOTION CONTROLS…we don’t play games (for the most part) to exercise or jump around god dammit!
Sony also had a pretty good conference. With the PS Vita finally getting the title and the price being announced, the audience (and viewers) we’re pleasantly surprised. However, don’t say you didn’t here the booing on the AT&T front Sony…you did.
I still must say Nintendo won the overall event though. I’m not trying to be bias at all, but they didn’t just stick to the topic of the WiiU either, they had a great range of things, which is one of the best moves for an E3 conference in my opinion. Among this range were a brilliant list of 3DS games and as a 3DS owner, “IT’S ‘BOUT DAMN TIME!”. I’ll be looking forward to playing many of those titles, but especially Luigi’s Mansion 2 as I was a massive fan of the original when it first came out and it needed a sequel.
E3 wasn’t the only thing that week though. All week long I was working on many different things for you guys, including some more Ocarina of Time guides for ZeldaUniverse and of course my next LP which has been revealed as Donkey Kong Country Returns. There is one other thing as well, but that’ll be revealed in time 😉
Well, thanks for reading, sorry I wasn’t able to get this post out earlier, and I’ll see you guys later!
First, before I get onto the main topic, WELCOME TO THE BLOG! I just launched it earlier tonight and so far it seems to be going well. Again, don’t expect daily posts or anything up on here, this is just somewhere for me to post now and then. A good way to think of it would be an extended personal Twitter I guess!
Anyway, something I really wanted to post about quickly was the ‘Green Valley’ Minecraft server. Many people have asked me why it’s all done through a membership system and not just as a free roam for those who wish to log on. Well, there are two main reasons. The first would be that the server I own/have bought can only take around 30-40 people without lag, and while that is still very impressive, I don’t want to have any strain on it at any time to make sure those who are playing are having the most enjoyable experience possible. The other of course would be griefing prevention. I needn’t say anymore on it, but to put it bluntly, we had our first experience of griefing today and while it’s already fully been fixed, we learnt a few things from it. The main one is that no matter who you choose, there is ALWAYS a risk so a good judge of character is needed in the selection process. More than I thought anyway.
The other point would just be the administration lesson really. Put it this way, backups are your friend 😉
Anyway, one good thing that came from this is that during the next wave of invites there will be one extra spot, so look out for that!
So, by the time I launch this, I want to have more up than just a introduction/welcome page. I figured I might as well start with something I’ve been loving recently, or rather, a group of people.
They’re a band named ‘I Fight Dragons’ and they do great music that’s influenced by video games. I truly don’t think I’ve found a song I haven’t enjoyed yet, but my favorite must be they’re simple yet addictive rendition of Zelda.
Some of the other great tracks include:
Their music may not be for everyone, just like any other kind of media, but personally I hope I’ve introduced you to something you might like 🙂
The upcoming posts will be A LOT more game related, but I thought this was a nice little first content post to put up for when you guys start flooding over here.
So, you may be wondering what this is all about. Well, it’s not an ‘official site’ per se, by which I mean something that I would post all my videos on and exclusive content, but instead just somewhere for me to update you on news of my channel, random things I think are pretty awesome and things in the gaming world I think are worth talking about. I think it would be quite nice for you guys to see what I watch/keep up with when I’m not LPing. It’s mainly just something for me to do when I’m not doing my regular stuff to keep you updated, plus I thought it would generally be a nice little addition to my online pursuits. So then, don’t forget to bookmark or do whatever kind of awesome memory thing you do to visit a site now and then!
